Tonya Virtue | Making high school sport photography profitable

Tonya Virtue has been photographing high school seniors and high school football full time for five years.  Until this year, the football work was not a profitable part of her business but rather a way to gain exposure with the seniors in her market.  It was working and she was happy with how her business was going but she knew that there had to be a way to turn it into something bigger.  When she learned about the StickyApps platform, she had a light bulb moment.  StickyApps would allow her to combine the things that she loved and was an expert on, football and photography with an area that she did not have the same skills in, technology.

Tonya used the StickyApps platform to offer mobile friendly websites for free to each of the eight football teams in her local conference by selling advertising space in them to local businesses.  In just two weeks, she sold over $15,000 in advertising space.

For marketing to be effective, it needs to be seen and this platform gives advertisers exactly what they are looking for. Hundreds of people are coming back to the mobile app day after day and week after week.   The small business owners that Tonya approached already knew how important mob is.  Whey they saw the sample app with their logo already in it, it was hard for anyone to say now.  Not only were they getting their business in front of a lot of people, they were contributing to something that the community would use and enjoy.

Tonya doesn’t plan to stop with the sites for football teams!  Meeting with so many business owners has given her a nice list of leads who are in need of her services.  Now that they have a relationship and they’ve seen the value of the service that she’s already providing them, it will be easy for the to say yes to her in the future.  We’re looking forward to hearing from Tonya in the future and finding out how many of these businesses end up with their own StickyApps.
